Student Hostel Congee/Porridge/JOOK

I have been tummy upset for the past few days and I really wanted some light yet cheap. I could not find anything on JustEat so I decided to make congee from whatever ingredients I had in my room I used a simple rice cooker to make it. 0.5 cups of washed uncooked rice (I used jasmine white rice but you can use any rice that you can find at your local supermarket) 1 tablespoon of scalloped powder/ chicken stock powder 5 cups of water 2 slices of ginger 10 - 15 goji berries washed 5 - 6 chinese red dates A handful of chopped scallions Just dump everything into the rice cooker and click the cook button. I cooked it for a minimum of 35 minutes. Give it a stir and taste test to see if the congee is at a consistency that you like.  I like mine watery and light.
